Schools in the area are also quite highly ranked, including Forest Avenue Public School and Riverside Public School. However, the real gem is certainly Port Credit Secondary School, which is always extremely well reviewed and provides many special programs to its students.

Meadowvale

The average single-family home in Meadowvale is about 25-30 years old and sells for around $700,000. Townhomes in the area average about $550,000 while condominiums range from $300,000 to $400,000.

Lisgar

Like Meadowvale, Lisgar is an extremely popular family neighbourhood. However, the homes in this area are typically much newer builds, as most of the community has been built in three stages over the past 15 years.

It is located in the Northwest section of Mississauga and has grown exponentially as more and more residents discover its unique blend of affordability and convenience. Demand is currently at an all-time high.

Often viewed as Mississauga’s most prestigious neighbourhood, Lorne Park features spacious homes and beautiful streets lined with tall trees.

Featuring a wonderful main street that is always bustling with action, Streetsville is a vibrant community located in North Mississauga.

There is always a ton of things to see or do including several major events that occur annually like the Bread and Honey Festival or the Santa Claus Parade. The neighbourhood also has many beautiful outdoor spaces as well, especially Victoria Park which is very conveniently located.

Streetsville is a really unique mix of new and old - both in terms of the residential areas and the people who make up the community. Although it was an older part of Mississauga for years, it has seen a recent shift in overall demographics as younger families have begun to move into the neighbourhood. The homes still do tend to be a bit older, however, they also feature larger lot sizes with spacious yards. There are a ton of great bars and restaurants closer to Main Street, while the GO train and the 401 make getting to downtown Toronto relatively easy.

Schools in the area are quite high-ranked, including Vista Heights - currently the #2 overall elementary school in Mississauga. Other quality options for Streetsville residents include Britannia, Dolphin Sr., and Streetsville secondary.

An average single-family home in Streetsville currently costs around $900,000, while townhouses average around $650,000.

Central Erin Mills

One of Mississauga's more mature neighbourhoods, Central Erin Mills has a wonderful mixture of history and modern revitalization.

Most of the residential areas feature two-storey detached homes, although several recent development projects by Daniels and Pemberton will bring more condominiums to the area. With the exciting new redevelopment of the Erin Mills Town Centre, residents of Central Erin Mills will have a ton of shopping and entertainment options to choose from.

Central Erin Mills provides easy access to the 401 and 403, while the Streetsville GO station is fairly close nearby. This particular area also has its own hospital (Credit Valley) and shopping mall, which certainly provides residents with many options for health care, entertainment, shopping, and more.

For those families with school-aged children, Central Erin Mills boasts some of the top public schools in the area including Credit Valley, Middlebury, Thomas St. Middle, and John Fraser Secondary. Credit Valley is especially noteworthy, as it has recently broken into the Top 5 in terms of the best overall schools in Mississauga.

Although not one of the cheapest areas in Mississauga, Central Erin Mills does have a nice balance between spacious living space (indoor and outdoor) and affordability. Homes with newly finished interiors typically hold their value extremely well, as many of the properties that come onto the market need a bit of work done on the inside. Townhomes are few and far between but the rare ones that do pop up on the market usually sell for around $675,000. Finally, the average condominium is valued around $390,000, although that number may change over the next several years due to all the new development projects in the area.

Central Erin Mills is certainly noteworthy for its heavy condo presence, as it is one of the handful of neighbourhoods in Mississauga that has many options to choose from - and it’s the only one with a combination of affordable condominiums and great public schooling options.
